Carbide tipped blades are much better, harder, more heat, and impact resistant which makes them deal with steel and lasts up to 200 times longer than the other basic carbon steel blades commonly used. Carbide saw blades are used by craftsmen and woodworkers for precision cuts for various small and large-scale projects. These blades are used to make cabinets as well as building furniture. Carbide-tipped saw blades cut almost everything including paper, plastic, insulation, steel, rubber, aluminum, and even food, as well as every kind of wood in the world and all the wood composites. The weight of the 787 Carbide Tipped Steel Blade is just 2 oz. for easy handling containing 18 teeth to cut flooring flush with walls and cabinet bases. Cutting of thinner metals including steel metals requires a finer cut so use 18 – 24 TPI metal blades. For aluminum, an 8 – 10 TPI blade is best. For thicker metals such as tubing, steel pipes, and angle irons, use 14 – 18 TPI metal blades. TPI is the number of teeth the blade has per inch. If you are looking to cut wood or other soft materials, you will need a blade with a TPI of 6 up to 20. For harder materials, TPI between 14 up to 36 is more suitable. The 787 carbide-tipped steel blade fits a Crain cutter which is specially engineered to cut flooring flush with walls and cabinet bases. 18 teeth provide a very smooth cutting action in those tricky spots while the lightweight feature of this blade contributes to the saw’s superb and easy handling. Crain makes some amazing cool saws for jobs like undercutting along walls, door jambs, and under toe spaces to give a tear to the underlayer. A special saw always needs a special blade where you can spend less on a steel blade and in the long run, you are better off with carbide because it holds an edge for a longer period of time and gives a better cut.

A thin rim fine tooth circular saw blade is used for cutting thick pieces of wood. This replacement carbide-tipped blade is for use on Crain model number 775, Crain model number 785, and Crain model number 795 toe kick saws. A toe kick saw is a circular saw with an extended arbor on which the blade is mounted. Compatible cutting material is only wood so avoid using this blade on any type of metal like ceramic tile, brick, or stone. It can also be used to cut the tiles, luan, vinyl, or similar subfloor materials under the kick space close to the base of the cabinet.
Carbide tipped blades are extremely durable and will last longer than other commonly used blades. If you perform a lot of sawing chores, the higher initial cost and a huge expense will be offset over the life of the blade.
