Decoding the CTET examination pattern

Referring to the above information, there are two examination papers in the CTET exam. First one is the Paper I which is for candidates who want to teach elementary level students. The other paper which means the Paper II is for candidates who want to teach students of upper primary level that is 6th to 8th class students.

As there are different papers, the modules in it will also differ. Below we have shown an outline of both examination papers.

Paper I syllabus is as follows

  • Child Development and Pedagogy
  • Language I
  • Language II
  • Mathematics
  • Environmental Studies

Paper II syllabus is as follows

  • Child Development and Pedagogy
  • Language I
  • Language II
  • Mathematics
  • Social Studies

If you are concerned about the marking scheme, it is as follows that 1 mark is a reward for correct answers or attempts. In paper 1 there will be 5 sections which we have named them and in the second paper there will be 4 sections (out of 5 candidates have to choose any 1 Mathematics & Science and Social Studies). If you have any confusion in the examination pattern or the learning module, you can refer to practice papers or the previous year question papers to know the weightage. Finally, if you are worried about the negative markings due to wrong attempt, wipe off this concern because there is no negative marking in the CTET due to wrong attempt.

Over the years or 15th edition of this examination so far was conducted in an offline mode. But now this CTET 2022 will be conducted via online or CBT mode. In the computer-based test, students have a limited time limit to attempt the question paper which is 150 minutes or 2.5 hours.

Before attempting these questions, candidates will be provided with a guideline or a set of instructions about how to attempt the question. Every candidate must abide by these rules and guidelines or else the candidates shall be eligible for disqualification.

The competition in this examination is tough, you cannot ignore the hard work or become a lethargic person. Keep practicing mock test papers or questions and boost your knowledge retention power. This time the examination will be conducted in 20 languages. Therefore, you must have the complete knowledge over command of basic skills about teaching or child psychology.
