Looking to make money online? Facebook can be one of the best ways to do so, particularly if you’re just starting out and don’t have a large following to work with yet. Here are the top best ways to make money online with Facebook and drive more traffic to your products or services, along with increasing your income potential in the process.
1) Monetize your Facebook page
One of the easiest ways to make money on facebook is to monetize your personal or business page. Simply set up a Pay for Promoted Posts campaign, and you’ll be able to get your posts in front of your fans (and their friends) without having them do anything.
It’s not hard – even if you don’t think you have many connections on Facebook, you can still reach thousands of people with ease. And you can customize exactly what content will show up when—great for big businesses looking to advertise on a tight budget. 2) Create Facebook groups and monetize them
This is one of my favorite strategies for making money online. It’s very easy and low cost and only takes a few minutes per day. All you have to do is create a group in your niche, build up some content, then start charging for ads on your group. You can get creative about how you run ads or collect membership fees or both, but it doesn’t take long before you’ll be making as much as $100 a day from Facebook.
3) Monetize your Facebook video views
Most social media platforms don’t directly make money from their users. That isn’t a problem for YouTube, which has its own ad model, but it is for platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Facebook does offer a monetization solution called Facebook Boost that allows users to boost posts if they pay (as low as $1).
This will push posts up into news feeds and increase exposure; however, there is no guarantee that any engagement (likes, comments, shares) will result. If you want guarantees of views or engagement when using your existing social media channels to drive traffic and income, create high-quality video content on YouTube instead.
4) Promote other people’s products on your Facebook page
If you’ve got a popular Facebook page, there are plenty of ways to monetize it. You can make money by placing ads on your page or selling your merchandise through Amazon. You could also promote other people’s products and services, like with Amazon’s affiliate program. In order to do any of these things, though, you’ll need either a merchant account or a publisher account.
Those are different types of accounts with different limits on what services they allow you access to. What if you want something that doesn’t provide affiliate links? No problem—you can create contests and give away free stuff! See below for some ideas on how to do that. Giveaways work well when you’re just starting out because they are easy to execute and have a low cost.
To host a giveaway, simply specify what you’d like to offer as prizes—typically cash or gift cards/certificates—and select which kind of entry is required: email address, comment reply, Facebook share, etc.
Then advertise your giveaway using social media sites (where many people will see it) and email marketing lists (where fewer but more targeted individuals will see it). You’ll probably get several hundred entries without doing much else once your contest is live!
5) Sell your photos
If you’re a professional photographer, start by uploading your portfolio and offering them on a pay-per-download basis. You can also create your own photo sharing site, like stock.xchng or Flickr. If you really like photography and want to make money online, you might want to consider starting your own photography website where you upload your photos and sell them as stock images.
6) Do paid surveys on Facebook
Paid surveys via social media like Facebook are a great way to make extra money and cash in on some free money. In no time at all, you can collect points and redeem them for cash via PayPal or gift cards.
There are many legitimate survey sites out there that will compensate you fairly for your time. Check out one of my favorites: Mopinion. As an added bonus, you’ll be helping them gather valuable feedback!
7) Try affiliate marketing on your Facebook Page
If you’re running a Facebook Page, you’ve likely heard of affiliate marketing before. When someone buys something online through your affiliate link, you get a percentage of that sale. You can also choose to become an Amazon associate and sell products on their site in a similar fashion. These are two great ways to make money online with your Facebook account and they don’t require any special technical skills!
8) Join Buy and Sell Groups
Buy and sell groups are a great way to make money online. These groups can be a combination of individual garage sales or other things you’re selling, or they can even be Buy/Sell/Trade (BST) businesses where everything is kept in one place. While there are probably thousands of these groups on Facebook, it doesn’t hurt to join as many as you can so you have lots of opportunities available when you want them. Just do your research before buying anything!
9) Sell digital goods like stock photos, ebooks, etc.
If you’re good at creating digital content, you can make money online by selling it. One of the best ways to do that is through stock photography. If you’re a skilled photographer, then people will pay you to use your photos. You can sell your images individually or as part of a larger collection.
If your photos are free, consider partnering with another photographer who will give them away for free in exchange for including his or her own photos. This way, everyone wins! (See also: Become an Amazon Associate and Earn Money Selling Other People’s Products)
10) Sell on Facebook Marketplace
Facebook Marketplace is a great place to find people selling items nearby and pick up some extra cash. But instead of selling random items like a pair of shoes or clothes you don’t wear anymore, focus on selling products related to your area of expertise or passion.
You can buy wholesale directly from suppliers and sell them on Facebook for a profit. So if you know where to look, there are tons of ways to make money on Facebook!
